Golfed the Canadian Rockies? Now Try Okanagan Golf
So you’ve been over to the Silvertip Golf Resort, and you’ve treaded the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course, but surely there must be greener pastures than these fine Canadian Rockies golf courses. You’re in luck: Okanagan golf is just around the corner (if you don’t mind driving five hours from Banff to get there). Check out the following golf courses in Okanagan to switch up your routine.
1. Gallagher’s Canyon
Warm climate, fresh green, and tall, enveloping pines—what more could you ask for in the Okanagan Valley? Lake Okanagan, of course, which is only minutes away from Gallagher’s Canyon Golf & Country Club. This course is filled with some challenging fairways that have been rated among the best in the country. After you’re done your game, relax in downtown Kelowna, since the golf course is conveniently located minutes away.
2. Predator Ridge Golf Resort
If you like elevated tees, you’ll love Predator Ridge. Take in the spectacular views of Lake Okanagan as you swing. Each hole will leave the recreational golfer challenged, but more importantly, it’s easy to have fun on this golf course. While you’re enjoying the Predator course, you may also want to try the new Ridge course, which was opened in 2010. With 36 total holes to enjoy, this Okanagan golf resort offers an unforgettable experience.
3. Black Mountain
This is a golf course sculpted not just by man, but by land. The Black Mountain golf course takes its cues from natural contours, and sits snugly in a valley of three hills. Because it was created before the rest of Black Mountain’s amenities, the golf course features uninterrupted green that takes advantage of the beauty of the Okanagan Valley. It should also be noted that each hole has four tee box locations, which makes it an ideal stop not only for beginners, but pros as well.
