There’s a certain type of golf course for every type golfer. For example, high handicappers will perform better on short, slow courses, while low handicappers will excel (or prefer, at least) a long, well-conditioned course and challenging course. The following are the five best Vancouver Island courses for those low handicap golfers.

5. Highland Pacific Golf Course – Victoria, BC

At 6,603yds with a rating of 71.4, it isn’t the most difficult course on the Island – but when you consider its par of 71 its slope of 120 and a great deal of unfamiliarity to most, this course is quite challenging.

4. Storey Creek Golf Course – Campbell River, BC

It has been named the top-rated golf course on Vancouver Island by both the PGA of BC and Inside Golf. It is a very challenging and narrow course with thick forest running down almost every fairway. Storey Creek’s unforgiving layout is shown with its 72.7 rating despite just 6,696yds in length and a 133 slope.

3. Bear Mountain Golf Resort (Valley Course) – Victoria, BC

2. Crown Isle Golf Course – Courtenay, BC
