Challenging Courses in the Kimberley-Cranbrook Area

The Kimberley, BC area is filled with golf courses that will challenge any golfer. Many have unique designs and others are just plain tricky. Here is a list of challenging courses, just in case you want to put yourself to the test.

Trickle Creek Golf Resort

The Trickle Creek Golf course has all kinds of surprises waiting for you. Some holes have long, sloping fairways, others have extremely well-bunkered greens, and others still have complex doglegs that require a well-thought tee shot. This course would be complicated for the beginner. Not only is the course a thrill, but it is a hop, skip, and a jump away from the 4.5 star Trickle Creek Lodge, which has many amenities suitable for couples or families.

Bootleg Gap Championship Golf Course

The tough parts of the championship course at Bootleg Gap Golf lie around the riverside. Accuracy is king there. For example, the signature hole–the par-3 12th at 193 yards–has a tee shot that is affected by wind that takes you down to a well-fortified green fifty feet below. The holes that follow line the St. Mary River but don’t get distracted by the scenery, as the course demands your full attention. You are guaranteed to be frustrated, but challenged, as it will force you to try something new.

Wildstone Golf Course

Set in Cranbrook, BC, this course gives an enjoyable experience set against the backdrop of the picturesque Canadian Rockies. While some holes like the 6th look harder than they actually are, others like the 12th are demanding. Land anywhere on the putting surface, and you will feel victorious. The 8th is more challenging than it appears with its well-bunkered green, and is unforgiving if you miss. Each challenge will test your accuracy, so staying sharp is a must.
